Radiata Pine (Pinus radiata) is an important member of Eva Timber’s Thermo Timber family. Plantation grown in New Zealand, FSC certified Radiata Pine is Thermally modified to enhance durability, stability and colour.
Thermal modification takes place in a controlled kiln process at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees centigrade, creating a Durability class 2 timber suitable for use externally in Use Class 3 situations such as cladding and decking.
The Thermal modification not only enhances the natural durability of the wood, but also reduces the moisture absorption and therefore significantly improves the dimensional stability.
The modified timber changes to a consistent mid-brown colour making it a popular choice for external claddings.
Our Radiata Pine is graded CLEAR1 (C1) the highest grade available. It is clear on 4 sides and consistent in colour throughout the board.
Not only do we source the top grade of raw material, all our Thermo Radiata pine is secondarily graded after Thermal modification.
